Our Goal: Breeding Boerboels True to the Original Standard
Our aim is to breed Boerboels that embody the core values of the original breed standard: health, correct structure, and above all, a balanced and reliable temperament. We want every dog we breed to be both a proud representative of its breed and a beloved family member — a dog that integrates smoothly and safely into everyday life, even in the hustle and bustle of a large household.
Years of studying Boerboel history, breeding lines, and health statistics have taught us what we value in our own dogs and what kind of future we wish for the breed as a whole. Our breeding program is grounded in knowledge-based decision-making and a deep love for the breed.
Preserving the Original Purpose – Not a Redesign into a Companion Dog
The Boerboel is not your average dog — it was originally bred as a working farm guardian in South Africa, requiring functionality, confidence, quick reactions, and a strong bond with its people. These qualities are what we aim to preserve and protect. We are not interested in breeding overly large, sluggish, or passive companion-type Boerboels. To us, the Boerboel is, above all, a functional, balanced, and resilient working farm dog — just as it was originally intended to be.
Health and Breeding Criteria – Responsibility from the Heart
All our breeding dogs undergo extensive health screenings before being used in our program. We thoroughly examine the musculoskeletal system (hips, elbows, spine, and knees), eyes, heart, and reproductive organs (such as testicular abnormalities and possible hyperplasia). Our goal is to produce dogs that are as healthy as possible, capable of handling daily life and maintaining their functionality well into adulthood.
Alongside traditional health testing, we also use DNA testing to ensure that our dogs are free from preventable hereditary diseases. We screen for conditions such as Hyperuricosuria (HUU), Canine Multifocal Retinopathy (CMR1), and Psychomotor Epilepsy. These measures help us minimize risks and give each puppy the strongest possible start in life.
Every Animal Is an Individual – Surprises Cannot Be Completely Ruled Out
Even though we do everything in our power to breed healthy and balanced individuals, it's important to remember that living animals are always unique. Genetics is a complex puzzle, and no amount of testing or research can eliminate every surprise or exception. We are aware of this and are committed to taking long-term responsibility for the dogs we breed.
Our breeding is based on care, understanding, and, most of all, love for this remarkable breed. To us, the Boerboel is not just a dog breed — it is a way of life, a true companion, and a reflection of responsible breeding.

Our expectations for puppy owners:
Have you familiarized yourself with the dog's care, breed and purpose in advance? We recommend that you get basic information about the breed before the first contact.
We require prospective homes to be cooperative and interested in dealing with the breeders even after the puppy is in it's new home.
The owner must commit to having the dog undergo health examinations during its adulthood (+18 months). We recommend examining at least the elbows (ED), hips (HD), back (LTV, VA, SP) and knees (PL).
The owner must focus on the puppy's manners training, handling and socialization from the first days of arrival. We primarily appreciate active homes where dogs are allowed to fulfill their natural purpose as farm guards and general purpose dogs.
Preliminary reservations are accepted before the puppies are born, final reservations are made after the litter is born and the gender distribution is seen, in which case a reservation fee (€500) is also paid. If, as the puppies grow, it seems that we cannot find a suitable puppy for you, the reservation fee can be transferred to a future litter.
Puppies are not sold or given away with partial payment and the reserved puppy must be paid for in full after puppy tests at about 6 weeks of age. If the final payment is not made before delivery, the puppy reservation will be transferred to the next litter.
In order for the right puppy to find a suitable home, we do not let the buyer choose the puppy, but we choose the right owner for the puppy after puppy temperament tests, which are performed when the puppies are about 6-7 weeks old.
Please fill out the puppy questionnaire carefully and honestly if you are interested in a puppy.
We offer safe worldwide shipping for our Boerboel puppies, with transport to Helsinki-Vantaa airport included. The cheapest option is always to pick up your puppy in person, but we also arrange ground transport within Europe and international air cargo for overseas buyers.
