Our Goal: Breeding Boerboels True to the Original Standard
Our aim is to breed Boerboels that embody the core values of the original breed standard: health, correct structure, and above all, a balanced and reliable temperament. We want every dog we breed to be both a proud representative of its breed and a beloved family member — a dog that integrates smoothly and safely into everyday life, even in the hustle and bustle of a large household.

Years of studying Boerboel history, breeding lines, and health statistics have taught us what we value in our own dogs and what kind of future we wish for the breed as a whole. Our breeding program is grounded in knowledge-based decision-making and a deep love for the breed.

Preserving the Original Purpose – Not a Redesign into a Companion Dog
The Boerboel is not your average dog — it was originally bred as a working farm guardian in South Africa, requiring functionality, confidence, quick reactions, and a strong bond with its people. These qualities are what we aim to preserve and protect. We are not interested in breeding overly large, sluggish, or passive companion-type Boerboels. To us, the Boerboel is, above all, a functional, balanced, and resilient working farm dog — just as it was originally intended to be.

Health and Breeding Criteria – Responsibility from the Heart
All our breeding dogs undergo extensive health screenings before being used in our program. We thoroughly examine the musculoskeletal system (hips, elbows, spine, and knees), eyes, heart, and reproductive organs (such as testicular abnormalities and possible hyperplasia). Our goal is to produce dogs that are as healthy as possible, capable of handling daily life and maintaining their functionality well into adulthood.

Alongside traditional health testing, we also use DNA testing to ensure that our dogs are free from preventable hereditary diseases. We screen for conditions such as Hyperuricosuria (HUU), Canine Multifocal Retinopathy (CMR1), and Psychomotor Epilepsy. These measures help us minimize risks and give each puppy the strongest possible start in life.

Every Animal Is an Individual – Surprises Cannot Be Completely Ruled Out
Even though we do everything in our power to breed healthy and balanced individuals, it's important to remember that living animals are always unique. Genetics is a complex puzzle, and no amount of testing or research can eliminate every surprise or exception. We are aware of this and are committed to taking long-term responsibility for the dogs we breed.

Our breeding is based on care, understanding, and, most of all, love for this remarkable breed. To us, the Boerboel is not just a dog breed — it is a way of life, a true companion, and a reflection of responsible breeding.

Are you interested in a puppy from us?

  • The puppies are delivered microchipped, properly wormed (at 2, 4, 6 and 8 weeks) and checked by a veterinarian, with a veterinary certificate and a puppy package. The puppy package includes e.g. the electronic version 24-page Tuebor Boerboels puppy guide and the 17-page Boerboel breed info.

  • The birth certificate of the puppies comes from Australia (WBBA) and all puppies are primarily sold as pets without breeding rights.

  • Puppies of will be used to handling, normal household noises, children of all ages, strangers and other dogs.

  • Our puppies grow mainly on raw food, but we also get used to dry food.

Our expectations for puppy owners:

  • Have you familiarized yourself with the dog's care, breed and purpose in advance? We recommend that you get basic information about the breed before the first contact.

  • We require prospective homes to be cooperative and interested in dealing with the breeders even after the puppy is in it's new home.

  • The owner must commit to having the dog undergo health examinations during its adulthood (+18 months). We recommend examining at least the elbows (ED), hips (HD), back (LTV, VA, SP) and knees (PL).

  • The owner must focus on the puppy's manners training, handling and socialization from the first days of arrival. We primarily appreciate active homes where dogs are allowed to fulfill their natural purpose as farm guards and general purpose dogs.

  • Preliminary reservations are accepted before the puppies are born, final reservations are made after the litter is born and the gender distribution is seen, in which case a reservation fee (€500) is also paid. If, as the puppies grow, it seems that we cannot find a suitable puppy for you, the reservation fee can be transferred to a future litter.

  • Puppies are not sold or given away with partial payment and the reserved puppy must be paid for in full after puppy tests at about 6 weeks of age. If the final payment is not made before delivery, the puppy reservation will be transferred to the next litter.

  • In order for the right puppy to find a suitable home, we do not let the buyer choose the puppy, but we choose the right owner for the puppy after puppy tests, which are performed when the puppies are about 6-7 weeks old.
Please fill out the puppy questionnaire carefully and honestly if you are interested in a puppy.

Health Guarantee – A Promise of Wellbeing and Responsibility
As breeders, our most important principle is responsibility. Every puppy we bring into the world represents not only the future of the breed but also our work, our values, and our hearts. That's why we stand firmly behind every puppy we breed and every breeding decision we make – not just in words, but with real action.

We are committed to ensuring that every puppy we raise comes with a health guarantee, reflecting our dedication to transparency, quality, and ethical breeding. This should be the standard for every responsible breeder – regardless of breed. It is in the best interest of the entire dog community that breeders take full responsibility for their choices and are willing to offer support when something goes wrong.

Why Do We Offer a Health Guarantee?
We understand that hereditary conditions can occasionally occur even in the best-planned litters. Breeding dogs is not an exact science – even with comprehensive testing and pedigree research, genetics can always carry surprises. That's why, if a puppy develops a serious hereditary condition, it is our duty as breeders not to turn away. We are here to stand behind our dogs – and the families who love them.

What Does Our Health Guarantee Cover?
All of our puppies come with a health guarantee that covers the following conditions:

  • Hip Dysplasia: Official grading of D or worse

  • Elbow Dysplasia: Official grading of grade 2 or worse

  • Patellar Luxation: Official grading of grade 2 or worse

  • Spinal Disorders: The guarantee covers serious congenital or hereditary spinal abnormalities confirmed by an official report, such as:

    • Lumbosacral transitional vertebrae (LTV)

    • Spondylosis (SP)

    • Vertebral anomalies (VA)

    • Other significant structural defects that affect the dog's quality of life or working ability

  • Genetic Diseases: If the dog is diagnosed as genetically affected by any of the following:

    • Hyperuricosuria (HUU)

    • Degenerative Myelopathy (DM)

    • Canine Multifocal Retinopathy 1 (CMR1)

    • Hereditary Epilepsy

All health issues must be confirmed by an official veterinary report, which will be reviewed and verified by our own veterinarian before any compensation is arranged.

What Is Not Covered by the Guarantee?
It is important to note that our health guarantee does not cover accidents, injuries, or issues resulting from external causes. The guarantee applies only to hereditary or structural defects that originate from within the dog's genetic or developmental background – not from slips, trauma, nutritional imbalance, overexertion, or insufficient exercise.

How Does the Guarantee Work in Practice?
If a puppy develops a hereditary defect that significantly affects its working ability or quality of life before the age of 24 months, the owner is entitled to a replacement puppy of equal value from the next suitable litter. The replacement puppy will be provided free of charge. The original dog does not need to be returned – it remains a beloved family member, exactly as intended.

Honesty, Support, and Transparency
Our health guarantee is not just a formality – it's a promise we live by with every litter. We also support our puppy owners far beyond the scope of the guarantee: we're here for advice, guidance, and encouragement throughout the dog's life.

Each puppy is a matter of the heart for us. And every new owner becomes part of a broader community whose wellbeing is the ultimate goal of our breeding work. Our health guarantee is a tangible commitment to stand behind our decisions – today and into the future.
