Registration & Birth Certificate – What Defines a Boerboel
The Boerboel is a breed deeply rooted in history, purpose, and tradition. Beyond being a family companion and working dog, a Boerboel represents a living piece of heritage. For this reason, registration and birth certification matter — not as mere paperwork, but as part of preserving the integrity and future of the breed.
A purebred Boerboel is more than just a dog with a certain appearance. Responsible registration confirms its lineage, background, and place in the breed’s story. This benefits not only breeders but also owners who want to make informed decisions about health, temperament, and the long-term sustainability of the breed.
WBBA – Global Registry with South African Roots
All of our dogs at Tuebor Boerboels are registered with the World Boerboel Breeders Association (WBBA). WBBA is an international organization based in Australia that maintains a registry for purebred Boerboels and hosts appraisals to evaluate dogs’ structure, breed type, and temperament.
The WBBA registration certificate serves as official documentation that a dog is recognized as a Boerboel with verified, traceable parentage. These certificates include the dog’s pedigree, registration number, and any relevant appraisal results. Registration is not just a formality — it’s a tool for transparency, ethical breeding, and the preservation of the breed's identity.
Birth Certificates – A Boerboel’s First Official Document
Puppies born here receive a WBBA-issued birth certificate, which records the puppy’s parentage, birth date, sex, breeder, and other essential information. This document is important for any future appraisal, ownership transfer, or if the dog is later considered for breeding. It marks the puppy’s official start in the Boerboel registry and validates its place within the breed.
Boerboel Foundation – A Piece of Breed History
Our earlier litters have also received birth certificates from the Boerboel Foundation, which was part of the South African and Namibian Boerboel database. The Boerboel Foundation played a key role in documenting original bloodlines, protecting genetic diversity, and maintaining historical accuracy in Boerboel records. Thanks to this, some of our dogs still appear in their registry, alongside many of the rare, early lines from Southern Africa.
These foundations allow us to trace, understand, and preserve the dogs that came before — and in doing so, respect the origins of the breed as it evolves into the future.
More Than a Paper – A Statement of Responsibility
To us, a Boerboel is never just a registration number, score, or pedigree. A good Boerboel is defined by its health, temperament, working ability, and how it lives with its people. But registration and documentation are still essential tools — they tell the story behind the dog, and they help us make decisions that protect the breed for generations to come.
At Tuebor, we combine hands-on experience, everyday life with our dogs, responsible breeding, and comprehensive health testing with verified registration and certification. That’s how we aim to contribute meaningfully to the future of the Boerboel — not just as breeders, but as guardians of th
e breed’s integrity and soul.
