PUPPIES
Tuebor puppies are born and raised at home as part of our everyday life.
I don't breed frequently, and there can be long periods between litters. When a litter is planned, the combination is chosen with the next generation in mind as well as the puppies themselves.

Growing up at Tuebor
Puppies spend their first weeks at home, surrounded by normal family life, children, adult dogs and all the everyday noises and activity that come with it.
As they grow, their world gradually gets bigger. They experience different surfaces, sounds, people and situations and have opportunities to explore and solve things for themselves.
A large part of this happens simply through everyday life. I want to see how each puppy reacts, recovers, interacts and develops rather than trying to make every puppy behave the same way.
Temperament evaluation
I have used temperament testing with my puppies for many years.
At around 6–7 weeks, each puppy is evaluated individually using the Volhard Puppy Aptitude Test. The test is only one part of the picture. By that age I have also spent weeks watching the puppies grow and seeing how they behave within the litter and in everyday situations.
The test results, my own observations and information about the future home are considered together when deciding which puppy is the best fit for which family.
Choosing a home
I don't place puppies on a first-come, first-served basis, and choosing a puppy from photographs is not how placements are made.
Before accepting a home, I want to know about the people the puppy will live with, their previous dog experience, everyday routine, living environment and what they expect from a Boerboel.
The most outgoing puppy isn't automatically the best choice for every home, just as a quieter puppy isn't necessarily the easiest. The goal is to find a good match between the individual puppy and the life waiting for it.
Before leaving
Puppies leave Tuebor:
- registered
- dewormed
- veterinary checked
- microchipped
- with the required vaccinations according to their age and destination
- with a written contract and puppy information
Each puppy also leaves with a puppy package and information for the new owner.
After the puppy goes home
My interest in a litter doesn't end when the puppies leave.
I want to know how they develop, both physically and mentally, and I stay in contact with owners throughout their dogs' lives. Health results and other information from previous litters also become part of what I use when planning future generations.
I expect owners to keep in contact and to complete the health examinations agreed for their dog when it reaches the appropriate age.
