Ensimmäisen kerran törmäsin rotuun vuonna 2003 etsiessäni tervettä, pitkäikäistä ja aktiivista molossia, silloin jo rotu vaikutti mielenkiintoiselta ja jäi syvästi mieleeni. Suomessa ei sillä hetkellä ollut montaakaan rodun edustajaa (jos yhtään) eikä kukaan ollut kuullut rodusta yhtään mitään, joten siitä lähti rotuun tutustuminen omin voimin liikkeelle. Koska asumisolosuhteet eivät olleet toivottavat tälle rodulle, se jäi vain haaveeksi pitkäksi aikaa, kunnes vuonna 2009 aloin uudelleen harkitsemaan ensimmäistä rodun edustajaa itselleni ja ajatuksen kanssa lähdin selailemaan kasvattajia ja pentueita. Siihen mennessä olin jo saanut hyvän mielikuvan rodusta, tiesin millaista koiraa olin etsimässä ja mikä sukulinja oli minulle se sopivin. Pitkän etsinnän jälkeen täydellinen narttu löytyi suhteellisen läheltäkin vielä ja siitä alkoi oman pennun odottaminen.
Vuonna 2012 meille vihdoinkin syntyi sopiva pentu ja näin meille muutti Savanna Boerboele Chelentano.
Ensimmäinen Etelä-Afrikan tuonti muutti meille vuonna 2014, Authentic Mizpah Savannah.
Jo Tanon tullessa kotiin, rotu vei sydämen mennessään ja boeleita onkin muutama ilmaantunut lisää, niin tuontien kuin omien pentujen toimesta.
Näiden vuosien aikana olemme tutustuneet moniin mahtaviin rotua harrastaviin ihmisiin sekä kasvattajiin ulkomailla ja tulemme jatkossakin tekemään tiivistä yhteistyötä heidän kanssa.

Asumme maaseudun rauhassa Mäntsälässä 2,6 hehtaarin tontilla, jossa koiramme pääsevät toteuttamaan itseään tekemällä aluevartijan töitä.
The first time I came across this breed was in 2003 when I was looking for a healthy, long-lived and active molosser. Back then the breed seemed very interesting and got deeply caught in my mind. There weren't many representatives of the breed in Finland at that time (if any) and no one had heard anything about the breed, so getting to know the breed started on my own. Because my living conditions were not desirable for Boerboels (nor did I want them in the city) it was only a dream for a long time until in 2009 I started to re-consider getting my first representative of the breed. By then I already knew what kind of dog I was looking for, what type and what bloodline would suit me best. After a long search I found a perfect bitch, relatively close to us also and then began the waiting for my very first Boerboel puppy. In 2012 that wonderful bitch gave birth to an amazing litter in Russia and we finally had our Savanna Boerboele Chelentano.
In 2014 we bought our first import from South Africa, Authentic Mizpah Savannah.
Ever since Tano came to Finland, the breed has stolen our hearts completely and we have gotten few more Boerboels.
During these years, we have met so many great breed enthusiasts and breeders abroad.
We will continue to work closely together with them.

We live in the beautiful and quiet countryside of Mäntsälä in a 2.6 hectare site, where our dogs can fulfill themselves by doing park ranging duties through guarding.
Tavoitteenamme on kasvattaa alkuperäisen rotumääritelmän mukaisia terveitä, rodunomaisia ja ehdottomasti hyväluonteisia koiria. Vaikka rotu on meille suhteellisen uusi, vuosien taustatyö on auttanut meitä ymmärtämään millaisia koiria haluamme jatkossakin kotiimme elämään suurperheen arkea sekä millaisina haluamme Boerboeleiden tulevaisuudessa pysyvän. Emme halua tehdä rodusta jättiä, löysää sekä laiskaa seurakoirarotua, vaan pyrimme omilla valinnoillamme säilyttämään rodun sellaisena kuin se on ollutkin, aktiivinen, terverakenteinen ja vahvan vahtivietin omaava maatilojen koira.
Tästä johtuen olemme päätyneet yhteen alkuperäisistä linjoista, Mizpah Boerboeleihin, joita tulemme jatkossakin suosimaan.
Koska rodulla on jo muutenkin suppea geenipooli, teemme parhaamme välttääksemme matadoruroksia sekä niiden jälkeläisiä. Ympäri maailman boerboelit ovat jo jollain tavalla sukua toisilleen ja vanhat alkuperäiset linjat ovat sitä mukaa häviämässä. Kaikkien meidän boerboeleiden suvun pystyy jäljittämään rodun perustajakoiriin asti, joten on sanomattakin selvää että emme käytä koiria tai niiden jälkeläisiä jotka ovat tulleet rotuun 2000-luvun jälkeen.
Mizpah linjan on luonut yksi Boerboelmaailman tunnetuimmista ja legendaarisimmista ihmisistä, oom Lucas van der Merwe. Hän oli yksi SABT:n (ja myöhemmin HSBA:n) perustajajäsenistä jotka 80-luvulla kiersivät Etelä-Afrikan ja etsivät jäljellejääneet rodun edustajat joista valikoivat parhaimmat koirat rodun kantakoiriksi. Oom Lucas kasvoi pienestä asti rodun parissa ja piti tärkeänä säilyttää rotu niin alkuperäisenä kuin mahdollista, välttämällä liian isoja ja aggressiivisia koiria jalostukseen, ja samaan mekin pyrimme. Oom Lucas valitettavasti menehtyi vuonna 2010, mutta nykyään Mizpah-linjaa ylläpitää mm. Etelä-Afrikassa hänen tyttönsä, Carin Yorke Hart (van der Merwe).
Kaikki jalostuskoiramme terveystestataan luuston (HD, ED, selkä sekä polvet), silmien, sydämen sekä hyperplasian/kivesvikojen osalta.
Näiden lisäksi myös DNA-testaamme jalostuskoiramme hyperurikosurian (HUU), koiran multifokaalisen retinopatian 1:n (CMR1) sekä psykomotorisen epilepsian osalta.
Our goal is to breed healthy and most importantly good natured Boerboels, according to the original breed standard.
Although the breed is relatively new to us, years of background work have helped us understand what kind of dogs we want in the future to live in the everyday life of a large family and how we want Boerboels to remain in the future. We don't want to turn the breed into a giant, overboned, oversized, sloppy and lazy companion dog breed, but with our own choices we strive to preserve the breed as it has been: an active, healthy and sound farm dog with a strong guarding instinct.
As a result of this, we have ended up with the one of the original lines, Mizpah Boerboels.
Since the breed already has a narrow gene pool, we do our best to avoid matador males and their offspring. All over the world, Boerboels are already related to each other in some way and the old original lines are disappearing. The lineage of all our Boerboels can be traced back to the founding dogs of the breed, so it goes without saying that we do not use dogs or their descendants that entered the breed after the 21st century.
The Mizpah line has been created by one of the most famous and legendary Boerboel-person in the world, oom Lucas van der Merwe. He was one of the SABT's (and later the HSBA's) founding members, who toured around South Africa in the '80s and searched for the remaining representatives of the breed for a base breeding stock. Oom Lucas grew up with this breed and wanted to preserve the breed as original as possible, avoiding to use too large and aggressive dogs for breeding and we have the same thing in mind. Oom Lucas unfortunately passed away in 2010, but today his daughter Carin Yorke Hart (van der Merwe) in South Africa maintains the Mizpah line.
All of our breeding dogs are tested for HD, ED, spine, knees, heart, VH/testicles and they are also DNA-profiled (HUU & CMR1). We also test our breeding dogs for psychomotor epilepsy.
Vuosien aikana olemme tutustuneet mitä mahtavimpiin harrastajiin ja kasvattajiin ja osasta on tullut meille todella läheisiä ystäviä, joten pyrimme mahdollisimman paljon tekemään jatkossakin yhteistyötä ulkomailla olevien kasvattajien kanssa rodun parantamisen osalta.
Boerboeleista ei ikinä voi oppia tarpeeksi, joten meidänkin kohdalla rotuun tutustuminen jatkuu vielä näiden vuosien jälkeen.
Over the years we have met and had been priviledged to get to know a lot of breed enthusiasts and breeders. Some of them have become a very close friends to us, so we try as much as possible to continue to cooperate with breeders from abroad to improve the breed.
You can never learn enough about Boerboels, so our long journey of getting to know the breed better, has only begun after all these years.
